Know Jesus

The Good News: (Gospel)

The word Gospel means Good News and the Good News is that since God is all knowing (Sovereign), He knows exactly what we need.

The Good News takes care of an old problem: Sin

The Bible teaches that each man is a sinner and in need of a Savior.

Isaiah 53:6

6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray,

each of us has turned to his own way;

and the LORD has laid on him (Jesus)

the iniquity of us all.

NIV

Sin separates us from God, therefore God sent His Son as the Solution.

God has satisfied His righteous requirements in His own Son when Jesus lived out the perfect life we couldn’t and died on our behalf. And in so doing has taken the punishment we deserve and beautifully offers to us His own Righteousness in exchange.

Romans 5:8

8 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

NIV

Romans 6:23

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NIV

2 Corinthians 5: 21

21 God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

NIV

What then is required for me to be Saved?

God wants us to place our Faith in Him and when this happens the Gift God extends is His Salvation.

Romans 10:8-13

"The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9 That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. 11 As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame."   12 For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile — the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, 13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."

NIV

God wants you! You must realize that, God desires a relationship with you. You can’t earn Salvation you must receive it by Faith.

John 3:16-17

16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

NIV

The result of the beautiful Gift is a changed life that now seeks to please God. Together with a changed heart and the Holy Spirit Now living within us, the practical side of Christianity begins. God starts to sanctify us from within. As we grow in our walks with Him our hearts will ever be growing to be more like Him.

Titus 3:3-8

3 At one time we too were foolish, disobedient, deceived and enslaved by all kinds of passions and pleasures. We lived in malice and envy, being hated and hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, 5 he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, 6 whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life. 8 This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

NIV

Romans 12:1-2

12:1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God — this is your spiritual act of worship. 2 Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is — his good, pleasing and perfect will.

NIV
